The inaugural winner of the Qatar International Open 9-Ball Championship is Dennis Orcollo of the Philippines. He defeated Niels Feijen of the Netherlands 13 -5.

Supported by a full house of supporters, Orcollo took advantage of a good running of the balls to convincingly defeat Feijen. Orcollo really exploited his opportunites with a very polished display. Unfortunately nothing seemed to work for Feijen, and he had few genuine chances and couldn't get into rythym. Orcollo collected a nice winner's cheque of US$40,000, and Feijen has to be content with the runner's up cheque of US$20,000.

The tournament has been a great success, and already the organsiers have secured dates for 2009, and have promised to make the event bigger.
