Quarter final matches were keenly contested, Neils Feijen of the Netherlands the only real clear winner when he defeated Japan's Ohi Naoyuki 11-7.

The match between two former world 9-Ball champions, Ralf Souquet (Germany) and Alex Pagulayan (Philippines) was a test of nerve. Never more than one game apart until the end, Souquet winning the final two games for a hard earned 11-9 victory.
